serbia

the first photo I took in serbia. kind of lost, on my way to andrej's.

the trolley i took to banjica. Dnevna carta, the pass i had to buy to get on, was one of the only phrases i learned before coming. Buying a ticket had its eases and difficulties. The lady in the little kiosk which sold the ticket was pretty annoyed that i only had big bills, and even more annoyed that i only knew how to say dnevna carta followed by please in english. Less than 1 usd for a day pass

one of the giant brutalist apartment buildings in banjica, belgrade. Andrej's dad, Saša, would later tell me that artsy out of towners always took photos of these buildings. Lol.

Andrej

Saša and I sat here every morning for hours drinking coffee and sharing stories while Andrej was off doing a surgical program for school. That radio never played a single ad.

Our view from the table.
